THE CHALLENGE

Starbucks, a leading global coffeehouse chain, required a dependable on-site communication solution to replace a failing wired PA system at its 700,000 square foot coffee roasting facility in Minden, NV. To meet the demands of daily live voice paging and emergency audio-visual alerts, the commercial wireless paging system needed to ensure dependable, facility-wide coverage with the following core capabilities:

THE SOLUTION

Visiplex’s commercial wireless paging system was implemented using a centralized wireless paging base station located in the facility’s main office. The system featured a network of wireless audio-visual PA speakers, indoor ceiling speakers, and high-powered outdoor horn speakers, all strategically positioned throughout the facility, including break rooms, smoking areas, muster points, and parking lots—to ensure complete voice coverage across indoor and outdoor environments.

To improve emergency visibility and meet ADA compliance standards, the system also integrated multi-color wireless beacon lights, delivering real-time, color-coded visual alerts during critical events.

Facility-wide alerts can be initiated directly from the wireless paging base station or remotely via telephone, enabling fast, targeted communication in response to emergencies such as equipment malfunctions, hazardous material spills, or workplace injuries.

Thanks to its wireless and modular architecture, the Visiplex commercial paging system was installed entirely by in-house maintenance staff, significantly reducing labor costs. Final system commissioning, testing, and hands-on staff training were provided by Visiplex technicians to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
