THE CHALLENGE
Confer Plastics, Inc. is a family-owned manufacturer of swimming pool and spa accessories based in North Tonawanda, NY. Plant Manager Pete Miller sought a cost-effective communication solution to reduce equipment downtime and enable instant alerts from production workstations—ultimately boosting operational efficiency. Given the facility’s heavy industrial environment and the need to avoid exposed wiring, a wireless system was the ideal choice. It offered a modular design, simple installation, flexible programming, and easy relocation to adapt to evolving production needs.
THE SOLUTION

After a detailed consultation with Visiplex Sales, a tailored solution was proposed: each workstation would be equipped with a CT154 wireless call button (22 total). When activated, the button sends a wireless signal to a set of VNS2214-7 wireless PA horn speakers (11 total), triggering a pre-programmed voice message specific to that workstation’s needs. For instance, Call Button #1 plays the message “Technical assistance #11 machine,” while Call Button #2 initiates “Foreman #11 machine,” and so forth.
This fully manufacturing paging system requires no hardwiring, each call station operates on a built-in lithium battery with up to 10 years of life, while the PA speakers only require a standard AC power outlet.
