THE CHALLENGE
Seaside Heights, a popular one-mile beachfront boardwalk in New Jersey known for its public events, beach activities, shopping, and dining, needed a reliable outdoor public address system to improve safety and communication. The City Electrical Department sought a scalable PA solution that could handle general announcements, emergency alerts, and daily boardwalk operations. The city required an outdoor PA system capable of:
THE SOLUTION
To meet the unique communication needs of Seaside Heights, Visiplex provided a fully wireless outdoor public address system designed for reliable, beachfront-wide coverage and easy installation. The solution included: A wireless paging base station installed at the municipal office for centralized system control, a high-power RF transmitter to ensure complete signal coverage across the boardwalk, a commercial FM transmitter for background music and scheduled announcements, and Outdoor PA horn speakers mounted along the beachfront for overhead public voice messaging.
To further enhance beach safety and real-time communication, an additional wireless base station was deployed at the lifeguard station, enabling live-voice paging directly to beachgoers.
The system was designed for fast and simple deployment by the city’s Public Works Department. Because it was entirely wireless, there was no need for expensive underground wiring between pole-mounted speakers and control locations. Each outdoor PA speaker controller only required access to an AC outlet, making the system both cost-effective and highly scalable.
THE RESULTS
Optimized Outdoor Public Address System Performance – The wireless outdoor public address system deployed at Seaside Heights Boardwalk significantly enhanced beachfront safety, operational efficiency, and public communication. Designed for high-traffic outdoor environments, the system improved both daily operations and emergency responsiveness. Key capabilities delivered by the solution include:
