FAQ

A basic wireless nurse call system starts at less than $200 (one panic button and one pager).  Expandable nurse call systems that include a VS4820 base station, one panic button and one pager, will start at approximately $1400. The actual system cost will mostly be based on the quantity of wireless panic buttons, intercom stations, LED message boards, clocks, corridor lights, pagers, etc. required for the facility.

A Visiplex wireless nurse call system can cover anything from a small assisted living building up to a large multi-building nursing home with just one transmitter. The Visiplex systems uses an FCC-approved band to send time, voice and data information to all of its wirelessly controlled devices. The system uses the needed transmission power to provide full coverage to any facility size.

Visiplex wall-mounted panic buttons can be installed without the need of professional installers with a simple wall mounting installation procedure. Since the entire system is wireless, all of the remote components, such as corridor lights, 2-way intercom stations and LED message boards, can be installed without any professional assistance. Connecting to AC power or a POE power source is all that needed. If you need or choose to install the system by a professional, Visiplex can offer professional installation services by our staff or recommend one of our resellers in your area.

Visiplex wireless panic buttons operate with a long-life battery that will last for years. Other powered devices, such as wireless LED message boards and two-way intercom stations, are offered with a built-in power backup option to ensure full functionality during power outage situations. It is recommended that all other system components, such as the base station and external transmitters, will be equipped with a power backup UPS.

One of the most significant advantages of a wireless nurse call system is the ability to add more wireless devices and expand the system as needed. For example, using a basic wireless nurse call system configuration, you can add additional corridor lights or panic buttons for easy expansion to more areas, along with LED message boards for nurse call stations and intercom stations for improved communication with residents.
